… consistently is tough. Of the many things that stood out for me in the 2008 US election, this insight was definitely one of the TOPS. Sarah Palin’s selection as the running mate of Mr. McCain is a decision that bamboozled me at that time, and (in retrospect) is still quite perplexing for me. Though, in retrospect again, I think all of us should come together and celebrate her single biggest contribution to political dialogue - “Pulling a Palin”. Even with my limited years of an active interest in politics, I cannot think of a single political personality (and I have a rich comparison set here from my days in India) who could consistently and with unfaltering frequency answer a very specific question with a very specific (pre memorized) answer with absolutely no relevance to the question asked without flinching even once. Wow … I want to meet the person who wont say a wow to that. In the end, we all know that Ms. Palin pulled a little too many Palins, but man I am amazed by how many she was able to pull in the first place.

Political commentatory for ages would use it as a “superlative” while describing a public act without any substance. I would, however, contend that “Pulling a Palin” should also go down in the bowels of history as a “superlative” for “unparallel levels of confidence”. Afterall, we all know now … Pulling a Palin is an art form that had no comparable equals before the US elections of 2008. Ms. Palin has given hope to all of us - with a limited understanding of almost anything - that as long as we have a backyard window facing another country  … we are all experts in international affairs … did I just try to “Pull a Palin”.
